In today's WLE blog I want you to analyze how different you felt working today verses how you felt your first day at your WLE. Specifically talk about how you have grown during your internship. In addition, talk about how your WLE project has helped that growth.

Write a one-page reflection on what you did this week (5/2) at your internship. It needs to be creative and interesting for teachers and mentors ro read. DO NOT tell me what you did. Analyze what you experienced and learned and how it relates to everything else you have learned so far.

Blog #5 (Your Project)

As I have come to visit all of you at your various workplace sites I have discussed with you and your mentors your final projects. I asked you to think about how your work relates to a bigger picture or larger task that will benefit the workplace or the company as well as you. To continue this process please reflect on the following:

Please describe in detail the work that you have currently been engaged in
and how that work relates to the larger whole of the workplace you are
currently involved with.

In addition, have you decided on a project for your WLE? If so, please
describe what your plan is for your final project. If you have not choosen
a project, please explain what possibilities exist and which one(s)
interest you the most.

Blog #4

You will write a 2-page (double-spaced) Journal entry from the perspective
of your mentor. Imagine you are your mentor and you are entering thoughts
into a journal entry about your new intern (this would be you).

Try to imagine what goes through his/her mind through the course of the
entire day observing you work.
-What do you think goes through your mentor's mind as you walked in to work
this past Wednesday?
-What things about you do you think impresses your mentor?
-What things about you do you think you mentor isn't impressed by?
-What things about you do you think your mentor wants to learn from you?
-What stories about you do you think your mentor tells about you to friends,
colleagues and family. Tell those stories.

As some of you are still going through the process of finding a placement and there are others of you who have been placed, please reflect on the process so far in preparing for the WLE by addressing the following prompts in a 2 page (double-spaced) reflection. 2 page reflective entry:
Take a moment to think back over your WLE day this week…what was it like? What happened? What did you take away from the experience?

If you get stuck, consider some of the following questions:
· What value or purpose did what I did today serve (for me personally, for school, for my site)?
· What did I learn about others? What did I learn about my self? What did I observe (self, world, others)?
· Is what I am doing valuable? How do I know? Is it meaningful work?
· What questions do I have?
· How has my experience at WLE changed my perception of what is possible out a ‘school’ experience?

Reflection

Well as I began to look for my WLE I was really hoping and had very high expectations for one place that one place was the Zeum. I was really hoping to work in a place that works with people and gets to work with art and technology. But as I got deeper into the search I had to work on a place that meets the requirements. So later I ended up getting an internship with a school to work with their kindergarten division. But due to a misunderstanding I was screwed out of that WLE.
So I decided to keep my head up and focus on the Zeum. The process for that started out really good but I never got a call back and I decided it was to late and to far into the week and I realized that it was not possible. So at a certain point I knew I had to keep looking, my options very open and kept looking. I ended up looking at places like Thrasher Magazine, The Academy of Science and even Orphanage studios. Most of this place never got back to me so I was in piss creek without a paddle.
Through constant days of searching and whining I ended up finding an internship with Noel Benoza who is Cat’s I.T. I felt working with him would be a fall back on internship that I could go to if nothing else worked. I never thought I wouldn’t get an internship in my desired places. But later I realized that working with
Wow I just received greatest of great news. KC is on the phone with the Zeum and so far it sounds like I got the internship with the Zeum. Wow I am so happy a little advice for the 11th grade has more patience and be confidant. I am really hoping that I will get to work with the exhibits and the people. So over all what ever work I receive I will do it with a smile on my face. So yeah stay happy and be patient
