Now that you've completed week 7 of your internship experience explain in full detail

*What you've decided to do for your final project?
* What the benchmark steps are?
*How this will benefit your WLE site and or you?
*How are you going to present the project to the CAT 9-12 advisories/academic seminars?

For my Work Place Learning Experience, i have decided to challenge myself more. I first wanted to do a book on C5. The book woud have included pictures, introduction to the children and staff, and their daily itenerary. I probably would have thought about more. I began to think about more ideas so that i could have options. My mentor, Linda, had to do a project for her school. She had to design her own preschool room. She asked me to help her design the structure and formation of her room. That gave me the idea to be more creative with the project, and challenge myself. Then i concluded that for my project, ma task was to design my own preschool room. My overlook of the project would be designing my own preschool room on a big grid board or on a regular board. I would also form my own preschool name, and daily itinerary for the kids. I would probably create my own mission statement as well. I was thinking about this as a project, and maybe even continue to make a book as well.

If i wa to do this project, some of the benchmarks would probably be:
1. Come up with a name for my preschool(explain why i chose that name)
2. draw out sketches of the possible ways i could have my preschool. At least three different ideas.(eventually find one thst interests me the most)
3. Make a schedule that you would want your children to follow by everyday.
4. What is my mission/proposal that i have. First draft.
5. TEACHER EDIT/MENTOR EDIT
6. finalize everything.

Im unsure of how it could benifit the workplace. Im hoping that if i make my book or maybe even a keynote, it will convince my audience that 25 is a great school and all that C5 has to offer. I think i could attract a lot of people by sharing my experiences. As far as the project that i have mentioned, maybe i can see if my layout of the preschool can possibly be considered as an actal preschool.

I think i will present a keynote of the overall preschool, and introduce my project and tell them what i did. What did i learn from my experience. How my learning experience will contribute to my future.
Get a board and draw my final

After seven weeks at my internship, I've been having lots of fun even though some parts of my work may have been tedious, I have enjoyed working at DonorsChoose.org. For my final project at my WLE, my mentor Kelly and I have decided to create a marketing report in which I create a binder describing in full detail how to do Donors Appreciation Day which is a day where we honor donors for all the donations they have given the past year. I will need to do a lot of writing and put my creative skills to the test as I will be writing an important document for many people to read throughout the nation. This will affect many DonorsChoose.org offices across the U.S. There will be many reading and deciding if their region would like to do Donors Appreciation Day or not.

There will be many steps to my final project. I will be needing to recall all the materials that are need to do this project. Then I will get help from Kelly to write the budget report which gives in depth numbers and how the money is going to be spent. I will also write the process of how everything is done. I will also need to talk about how the gift certificates were done and how to make them. Those are only some of the many things I will need to be included in my draft of the report. I will also need to remind all Donors two weeks before the expiration date of their gift certificates through e-mail along with my experience of how much DonorsChoose.org has helped my education in the classroom of a teacher that received materials.

This project is going to greatly help DonorsChoose.org and also help me learn the marketing world. I will help DonorsChoose.org because this report is going to help many other regions do a hard project and also save some of their time because there will be a step by step instruction on what to do. Now the entire country will be able to do Donors Appreciation Day instead of only the Northwest Region.

I will be presenting this project to the 9th-12th graders at CAT by making a power point and having a copy of what I made. That way I can show them my final project and also describe the actual process of what I did during my time at internship.
I will have visuals instead of only words in the marketing report. I will show what was going on throughout the entire process.

I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a project so I worked at my internship keeping my mind open. I was doing my morning routine of watching the kids in the older infant room when I realized how great they respond with the teachers, kids , and their environment. When a teacher asked one of the kids if they wanted to finsh their snack the kid shook his head no, I never really saw this as a big thing but even though these kids haven't learned their words yet they still know how to communicate with others. So the project I'm deciding to do is to show how Children's Village affects the kids they teach here. The kids I'm going to focuse on is the older infants, I'm choosing them because I spend most of my time in their classroom and I have made a bond with every kid in thier.

benchmark steps
1) Make a video of the kids interacting with eachother/teachers in the classroom
2) Edit video
3) Make a powerpoint that shows info and achievements of Children's Village
4) Add slides that show pictures of kids(pictures need to relate to topic being discussed in slide maybe a picture after 2 slides?)
5) Collect pamlets/things that will give more information; from Children's Village
6) Add video to powerpoint

I will include a brief explanation of my work then explain what Children's Village is and then I'll show my powerpoint

I have actually finished the bulk of my project for my WLE experience. In my previous blog, I described in detail what my project was, so instead of talking about my future plans, I will discuss what steps it took to complete the video project that was shown on Heritage Night (March 16).

1. Contacted people to interview.
2. Created a list of interview questions and sent out the list for interviewees to review.
3. Filmed interviews using my HD camera.
4. Logged footage onto my computer.
5. Edited in Final Cut Pro.
6. Exported to Quicktime and burned DVD.
7. Presented project at Heritage Night to a crowd of about 120 people from my church.

The editing process was the longest step. I did the first edits on my own and then received creative advice and training from Jym, Roland, and my mentor Cindy.

This project has benefited Bethel in that it has educated members in the church about one another. It has given insight into generations other than their own. In the featured interviews, people talked about how long they have been attending the church, how they got there, what they love most about Bethel, what their favorite memories are, and what legacy they want to leave behind. The end product was about 8 and a half minutes long. I had about 40 minutes of video footage to work with so I can possibly even expand the video or use the footage for a future project.

What I would need to do in order to have my project ready for showing to CAT advisories/ac. seminars, I would need to construct a Keynote or Website page that I can share my video on and also talk about the other things I have worked on during this WLE experience.

The final project that i decided to do for Work Place Learning Experience is probably allowing the kids to draw with chalk on the sidewalk at the preschool. after observing about what the kids have been doing during outdoor play time, i saw that they were crazy over drawing with chalk all over the place. after i saw this, i thought about having the kids draw depending on what the theme of the week is. my mentor and i have already planned what the theme is going to be for that week and i think that we will be holding that project on April 30th.
The benchmarks that we are going to have for this project is finding out what kind of art is related to oceanography because we thought about what types of art are there and the best one that we thought about was Hawaiian art because Hawaiian art has a lot of artwork related to the ocean and things like that.
this will help benefit the lesson plan that will be going on for that day because this project will just be replacing the project that they will originally have on that day. i would just be getting together a project so that the teachers wouldn't need to think of one so less work for them is definitely a good thing. it would also help the kids learn more about the theme of the week which is oceanography.
the way that i am going to present my project on exhibition night is probably showing a video to the audience as a project that i did and maybe telling a little bit of what i learned while doing this WLE.

For my final project I have not decided to do anything yet. I been trying to think of things to do but my mind just doesn't think outside of the box. I wanted to do a pamphlet when I first started at the DA's office, but that idea got shot down by KC because he told me that 2 other people that previously interned at the DA's office did pamphlets, so I had to do something new. In my opinion there's not really a project you can do other than a pamphlet, but I guess I’m just have to think harder on a project. I don't know what the steps are going to be because as I stated before I don't have any idea of what I want to do. I guess I have to set another kind of benchmarks for myself. Those are: 1) Ask my mentor what she think will be a good project for me to do? 2) Get help from my academic seminar teacher? 3) Sit down for a little while and just focus on the work I do at the DA"S office and try to incorporate some ideas of a good project. Well for my project what ever it may be I want to present it in a short movie of something I taped. Instead of me just talking the whole time I want them to see something visual so they can get a better feel of what I did. I also want it to be like a question and answer session. I think that would be better for me because I have a problem with presenting and if people are asking me questions then it would go more smoothly because I would most likely know the answers to them. I hope I can find something to do in time. My goal is to have something set and stone by the Wednesday of next week. =)

I have already almost completed my project. For my project I had to complete what they call the blue room. There are two rooms that the sound engineers use, the blue room and yellow room. The blue room is the guest studio and it is not entirely complete. The engineer using it has his own set up that he brings up from LA when he is in San Francisco. My job was the complete the blue room and make it usable when the other sound engineer is not in town. So far it is almost there, what I had to do first was learn how these two old pieces of equipment worked and how they hooked up to another piece of equipment. These pieces were converting analog sound to digital sound, these would run into the monitor. All of this would be connect to the pre-amps and the pre-amps are connect to whatever you plug into them instrument wise. Everything is then run into the computer. What I had to do was connect everything and get it all organized. I then how to install the Pro Tools software on the computer and am now learning how to use it. I will document everything with pictures of what I did and the end result of everything and explain what those pictures show and how they work. This benefits Community Musician way more then it benefits me, they will have a studio that is actually in use and can have guest engineers use it when needed. It also benefited me, I know now how to set up a studio and understand how everything works. By the end I will know the very basics of how things work.

My final project is going to be what i have been working on this whole time, which is getting a t-shirt design to the point where it can be printed and sold in a store. I have been developing my skills in t shirt design by jumping right into designing and getting feedback on my designs. i have learned to take my own personal taste out of the designs to a certain extent, because im not trying to appeal to myself, i am trying to appeal to the average hot topic shopper. If i just made designs that i wanted to wear, they wouldnt get chosen because i dont share their tastes. I have also been learninng about the different ways that bands like their shirts. a sex pistols shirt obviously wont be in the same style as an american idol t shirt. ive been doing my benchmarks since the first day of my internship, and i may have already completed my goal, because i was told that a sample was being made of a ramones shirt that i designed. i will hopefully have the physical shirt that i designed to show during my presentation, in addition to all my previous designs in a slide show or something to that extent.

what i have decided to do for my final project is to do a documentary on the kids and how they may respond to the things you tell them. i will try my best to explain how parents or adults in eneral should and willl eventually have to talk to certain age groups so they will understand you correctly and will be able to folllow through on what you tell them. this mat benifit my work place learning site by presenting my workto parents who may need a place to take their kids. this will also benifit them to show how good the parents are with their kids and how well they connect with their kids just from them being here with their kids and playing with them may do. well the only way we can realy present our work is on imovie so i will present it on that but i will add pictures and i willspeak as the pictures go on to other ones and i will explain evrything the kids are doing to show how it may help parents to connect with their kids.

I haven’t yet decided one hundred percent on what I will be doing for my project. Kathy and I have talked about what my options are and what the possibilities are and we both agree that my best bet for a well done project would be me designing and decorating my own cake. I need to run the idea by KC to see if this should or even could be good as a final project. I really like the idea and think that if I do end up doing this then it will turn out really nice and I think by doing this, because it is such a huge step for me, she will realize how dedicated and see how much I want to do this with my life. There isn’t much for me to do if this is my project. I think that I will bring it to school and take pictures of our academic seminar observing the creativity and design and effort in the cake and have that as proof and then later on ask my academic seminar questions and see if they thought the taste was as good as the look of the cake. And I guess just ask them questions on different things like that. And I guess from there just do whatever else is required for the final project. I think this will benefit my WLE site because they will see that what they taught me paid of and they weren’t just teaching me for me to forget what I learned and just pass a class but I think they will see that this is what I want to do not just something will do for fun. This project will I think benefit me because if I am looking to get a job at a bakery I can show them the picture of the cake and get a recommendation from Kathy and she could tell them that I am hard working dedicated and will to learn, just like I am at my internship now. I am going to present my project through pictures even though I wish I could present it by actually decorating a cake in front of the crowd that will be for exhibition.
